i'm far from knowledgeable in the aerodynamic field, but i thought the reason champ cars didn't adopt the f-1 style nose earlier had something to do with the underbody tray, which f-1's don't have, wouldn't it be reducing the negative lift 'suction' generated underneath?
from a styling point of view, f-1 fronts are ugly. big time.
shouldn't they be differentiating themselves from evil f-1, at least aesthetically?
is it just me or was the reynard 97I the best looking open-wheeler ever made?
